Kim Barge is an artist and art educator born and raised in Georgia, currently living in Buford. Her creative practice is informed by a deep commitment to both making and teaching art, with a career that bridges studio practice, education, and community engagement.

Kim earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Textiles from Georgia State University, her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Georgia, and her Master of Fine Arts in Painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

In addition to her studio work, Kim is an art professor at the University of North Georgia. Prior to higher education, she taught K–12 art for twelve years. She also has an art studio at the Tannery Row Artist Colony where she teaches classes and sells her work.

Kim has had two solo exhibitions and has exhibited in locally juried group shows for over eight years. Her work reflects a thoughtful balance between humankind and nature,grounded in years of artistic and educational practice
