Christine P. Canova

Christine Prather Canova first studied Art at Mercyhurst Prep School in Erie, Pennsylvania where she grew up.  Her education continued at Jacksonville University in Florida.  She was the honored recipient of the Art Department’s Cash award and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Fine Art and additional Departmental Honors.

Chris’s artistic journey eventually led her to an award winning Residential Design Firm in Atlanta, Georgia where she enjoyed many aspects of Marketing including renderings of home designs and managing their website.

 Since 2008, she has been a Resident Artist of the Tannery Row Artist Colony.  She enjoys mixed media but her greatest passion is acrylic on heavy weight, handmade Japanese Papers.  These works of art combine delicate elements of realism with organic images found in nature.  Her love and inspiration comes mostly from the smallest details found in nature.
